Cactus? Tumbleweeds? Nope. Houston is located in the Gulf Coastal Plains of The Lone Star State, situated between the pine belt and coastal prairies. That means we have lots of trees and are a short car drive from the beaches in Galveston. As an event-driven city and with 3 other major cities within driving distance, there is never a shortage of things to do and see.
Our world-renowned museum district, zoological gardens, and amazing selection of non-chain restaurants recently landed Houston at the top of Forbes' list of coolest cities. Additionally, we're home to six professional sporting teams (Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Houston Dynamo, Houston Aeros, and Sugar Land Skeeters).
That's not to say we don't have a healthy helping of rodeos and red dirt lifestyle. It's just another small part of the culture that makes Houston one of the most eclectic places to live in the world. There's something for every walk of life here making this the greatest place to call home sweet home.
