INSIDE TIMEGATE

Second Annual “Another Type of Game Day”

As you've obviously noticed, we've got a new “Inside TimeGate” section on the site. On a regular basis, we'll give you a bit of insight into what life is like at TimeGate, including recaps of company events, staff gaming competitions, team profiles and more. Today we're going to show off a few pictures of a recent company outing… and we've got a little contest that could net you a signed copy of F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and an original signed piece of Kohan concept art!

Game development wouldn't be the most appealing industry if all we ever did was sit at our desks, working our way though code or skinning character models. Well, I'm sure we'd still love it, but we do need to get away once in awhile. So a few weeks ago, the team headed out to Minute Maid Park to watch the Houston Astros take on the Florida Marlins… that's baseball for our international visitors.

As an added surprise, we got a nice shout-out on the big screen (see pic) from the Astros. I think the pictures speak for themselves, but everyone was in good spirits and had a lot of fun. It certainly helped that the Astros worked over the Marlins 6-1 to get their fifth straight win; it's never much fun to cheer for a losing team.

Now to the really fun part… here are a handful of photos from the event. All you need to do is use Photoshop or another image-editing program to make the best picture. It can be funny, related to one of our games, whatever (just keep it in good taste). Email the image you create (no larger than 1 MB) to submit@timegate.com and we'll post the best entries on the site, and TimeGate will vote and pick the best ones to receive the prizes. The deadline for this contest has already passed. Contest winners will be announced on June 1, 2007.

First place wins a copy of F.E.A.R. Extraction Point signed by the dev team and the runner up wins an autographed original piece of Kohan concept art!
